  1. Susan, thanks so much for the post. I am in your class and so looking forward to it. It was very nice to have a more detailed look at the scope of class.

I have been wondering about which materials to bring. From doing the tutorials with (knitting) yarns on hand, I have had poor results due to the small variations on yarn diameter. I have been surprised at how small of a difference the diameter (and possibly the density) of the yarn makes. I have also had issues with not enough value contrast for the patterns to visually snap. For the tutorials, it has not mattered that much, since the goal was learning. But I hope to pick more appropriate yarns so I like and use the resulting bands.

    1. HI,
Do not worry about what to bring at this stage. When I get my class list I will be contacting everyone with details of what is needed. I use a 6/2 American cotton for my teaching and I believe that in the States you can get a 5/2 cotton which is ideal.
I like to chat with everyone in my class before hand.
Do contact me if you have any further queries.
      happy weaving
